The Role

We are looking for a Group Tax Manager to join our Headquarters site in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire. The Group Tax Manager will lead the Group Tax function by managing a wide range of tax issues for the SEWS-E Group with particular emphasis on transfer pricing, tax compliance, controls and reporting, including providing support and direction for both UK and overseas entities within the SEWS-E Group. The Group Tax Manager will assist in the continuing development of the SEWS-E tax function, it’s policies and objectives, and ensuring consistent implementation and application throughout the Group.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Transfer pricing compliance, including preparation of local country transfer pricing reports for certain overseas entities and the monitoring of performance of all entities against SEWS-E TP policies and targets
• Support tax authority enquiries, defending tax audits, and investigating special ad-hoc tax issues throughout SEWS-E Group
• Liaising with SEWS-E entities and external advisors to ensure an understanding of their tax accounting and internal reporting. Support Group Finance Manager in preparation of SEI quarterly and annual tax consolidation and SEWS-E Statutory Accounts tax disclosures
• Liaising with SEWS-E Group entities to ensure that they are compliant with local Corporate Tax requirements and maintaining relationships with external tax advisors
• Compiling reports on and taking appropriate actions as regards to tax risks and reporting to management. Mitigate tax risk through applying for APA’s and other tax rulings
• SEWS-E UK tax reporting and tax return filing, UK SAO compliance and other compliance reporting. Ensure that the business is informed of key legislative changes affecting the business
• Maximise tax efficiencies and ensure that all opportunities are realised regarding tax incentives
• Carry out other comparable duties as required by the Line Manager

Skills & Qualifications

• Good Microsoft skills, particularly in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Qualified accountant with tax experience, including experience of transfer pricing

Special Conditions

• Must have an existing right to work in the UK
• The ability/flexibility to occasionally travel overseas when required
