Job Description
What will you be doing?
We are seeking a talented individual to join our Finance team in London as Group Tax Manager who will manage the Group’s tax affairs. This role does not involve interaction with external clients.
As Group Tax Manager, your responsibilities will include among others:
- Lead on the Group’s tax affairs, coordinating with colleagues in Finance and external advisers as required.
- Sign off on the Group’s tax reporting and corporation tax compliance, including:
- Year-end financial reporting on a consolidated and legal entity basis;
- Tax input into budgets and forecasts;
- Preparation and submission of all corporation and LLP tax returns with supporting documentation, covering transfer pricing, diverted profits tax, controlled foreign companies, corporate interest restriction, R&D credits, permanent establishments, claims, elections, CbCR, and Pillar II reporting.
- Ensure timely calculation and payment of all tax obligations.
- Lead automation initiatives for tax reporting processes.
- Manage the Senior Accounting Officer certification process.
- Oversee overseas entities’ tax affairs in liaison with local advisers.
- Advise on business projects including M&A activities.
- Maintain documentation of tax processes and sign-off requirements.
- Maintain professional relationships with tax authorities.
- Handle employment tax matters, including P11D, PAYE, visitor tax implications, and ad hoc queries.
- Review employee share schemes and related tax returns.
- Collaborate with Finance to consider tax impacts on business activities.
- Oversee VAT compliance for UK and overseas, including processes, training, and legislative updates.
- Lead on operational tax matters for the Operations teams.
- Build internal networks, assess tax risks, and stay updated on legislative changes.
- Update the Group’s Tax Strategy and prepare tax papers for executive review.
- Lead tax audits and manage disputes with tax authorities.
QualificationsTo succeed, you should have:
- Significant experience within professional services.
- Strong knowledge of corporation tax, VAT, and deferred tax.
- ACA/ACCA/CA or CTA qualification.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Strong leadership abilities.
- Proactive approach to change management.
