Job Description:

What will you be doing?

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Procurement team as Group Procurement Manager in Liverpool on a 12 month fixed term contract. The role necessitates collaborative working across S&W to ensure all third-party engagements enhance commercial and operational value to the business and its clients. The role is responsible for negotiating commercial deals with suppliers to reduce costs and improve service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a fast-paced, dynamic procurement team and possess a can-do attitude to see things through to completion. You will actively manage supplier risk and performance to ensure continuity. Additionally, you will develop supplier relationships to ensure S&W remains at the forefront of innovation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for procurement queries and providing procurement advice.
  • Working as a Business Partner with key stakeholders across the Group.
  • Ensuring companywide procurement requirements and contract management solutions are effectively managed.
  • Leading high-value and complex projects.
  • Deputising for the Head of Procurement and Senior Group Procurement Managers as needed.
  • Managing the Procurement Pipeline and Tracker to see projects through to completion.
  • Managing contract repository.
  • Conducting commercial and contract negotiations to achieve favorable outcomes.
  • Owning the entire procurement process including ITT/RFPs, RFIs, RFQs.
  • Developing relationships with suppliers to reduce costs, enhance services, and promote innovation and sustainability.
  • Ensuring all procurement activities adhere to internal policies and procedures.
  • Collaborating with Legal, Data Protection, and Information Security teams to mitigate third-party risks.
  • Ensuring all contracts meet group policy, regulatory, and industry standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in end-to-end strategic procurement across various indirect categories.
  • Mergers & Acquisition experience is desirable.
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, preferably with a Financial Services background.
  • Strong influencing skills and stakeholder management.
  • Experience with ESG-related improvements is desirable.
  • Proficiency in drafting and interpreting contracts.
  • Strong commercial negotiation skills.
  • Experience in Supplier Relationship Management.
  • Understanding of Procurement category management.
  • Experience managing complex tenders and benchmarking exercises.
  • Proficiency with eSourcing platforms.
  • Ability to create commercial models tailored to category requirements.
  • Strong MS Excel and MS Office skills.
  • Commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Data analysis skills for decision-making.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with high energy levels.
  • Flexible, professional, and diligent under pressure.

Professional Qualifications and Education:

  • Degree-level education is desirable.
  • MCIPS qualification or working towards it is a plus.
