Group Management Accountant (MAT COVER)

Position: Group Management Accountant

Location: 17 Europa View, Sheffield Business Park, S9 1HX, minimum 3 days per week in the office.

Contract type: Fixed Term 12 months, 40 hours per week

Rate: Competitive

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company as our new Group Management Accountant in Sheffield. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality set of management accounts each period with the support of a competent and experienced team.

While this is a maternity cover FTC role, there is potential for a permanent position due to the ongoing growth of the business and the evolution of the finance team.

About The Role

As a Group Management Accountant, you'll ensure that the P&L and Balance Sheet are accurately produced to monitor the business’s performance. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering accurate management accounts each period within the required timetable with the support of a team of six Finance Assistants.
  • Preparing monthly accruals, prepayments, and month-end reconciliations.
  • Managing approval of bank payments and treasury functions, including mandates and new accounts.
  • Monitoring debt and interest reconciliations (PE funded business).
  • Maintaining accurate cash flow information.
  • Monitoring and reporting on CAPEX spend.
  • Ensuring balance sheets are fully reconciled and controlled.
  • Supporting Group Financial Reporting Manager in ensuring strong financial compliance and governance, and adherence to internal controls.
  • Providing accurate financial analysis to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Carrying out ad-hoc finance team tasks with support from experienced team members.

About You

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA), or part-qualified/QBE considered for the right candidate.
  • Have high proficiency in Excel (Pivots, Lookups, If$).

  • Be an excellent organiser, capable of multitasking and prioritising.
  • Have a keen eye for detail and areas for improvement.
  • Be a team player.
  • Follow policies, processes, and regulations relevant to your role (training provided).
  • Have understanding of care home business models and experience in larger business environments (£200m T/O).
  • Knowledge of SQL tables is desirable.
