Job summary

Hays are recruiting on behalf of a growing acquisitive organisation to hire a Group Management Accountant in Milton Keynes. You will own consolidated group reporting across multiple entities and work closely with senior finance leadership including the Finance Director and CFO.

Responsibilities include monthly consolidated accounts, intercompany reconciliations, variance analysis, month-end, VAT reporting, statutory accounts support, and driving improvements to controls and processes.

Qualifications

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, although strong finalists will also be considered.
• Experience producing management accounts within a multi-entity business.
• Experience with group consolidations and intercompany accounting.
• Strong month-end and year-end accounting knowledge.
• Experience producing financial analysis, commentary and reporting packs.
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence with finance systems.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

• Investigate trends and anomalies; present findings to senior stakeholders.

• Oversee group VAT reporting and compliance.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation and external audits.
• Partner with operational teams to drive improved financial performance.
• Identify and implement improvements to controls, reporting and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and produce monthly consolidated group management accounts.
• Consolidate financial information from multiple entities, ensuring consistency and accuracy of reporting.
• Deliver insightful variance analysis and performance commentary against budgets and forecasts.
• Investigate financial trends and anomalies, presenting findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Manage month-end activities including accruals, prepayments and journal postings.
• Support the timely delivery of month-end, quarter-end and year-end reporting.
• Oversee group VAT reporting and compliance requirements.
• Assist with statutory accounts preparation and external audit requirements.

About You
