Job summary

Lothian Buses in Edinburgh is seeking a Group Management Accountant to join our Finance team. You will prepare monthly management accounts, analyse performance against budgets and forecasts, and support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

You will complete balance sheet reconciliations, assist with VAT, statutory accounts, audits and regulatory reporting, and provide financial guidance to managers across the business.

Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant with ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
  • Experience preparing management accounts.
  • Experience handling VAT, statutory accounts, audits and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Analyse financial performance against budgets and forecasts.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.

Group Management Accountant

Location: Edinburgh

Job Type: Full-Time - Circa £55,000

The Role

About You
Essential
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
  • Strong experience preparing management accounts.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience handling confidential financial information.
  • Strong team player with the ability to build effective working relationships.
Desirable
  • Experience within a commercial or operational finance environment.
  • Business partnering experience with non-finance teams.
  • Knowledge of finance systems and reporting tools.
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
