Job summary

The Institute of Cancer Research in London is seeking a Group Leader in statistics to steer a component of the ICR-CTSU portfolio of clinical trials research. The post holder will join a faculty and help develop ongoing trials while mentoring junior colleagues and collaborating with international leaders.

The successful candidate will lead independent projects, contribute to trial design, conduct and analysis, and help secure funds for clinical trials research at the international forefront.

Qualifications

• Higher degree in medical statistics/biostatistics or allied field (e.g. public health, epidemiology, data science).
• Significant experience as a clinical trials statistician or biostatistician in academic or commercial sectors.
• Desire to apply existing and novel statistical methods to diverse statistical problems.
• Broad understanding of cancer research.
• Ability to lead a Clinical Trials Unit based research group.

Responsibilities

• Lead a component of ICR-CTSU’s portfolio of clinical trials research.
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to joint initiatives.
• Collaborate with faculty and international leaders to extend trial design and analysis.
• Develop and grow trials and seek research funds for trials and population data science efforts.
• Present at national and international conferences and contribute to wider clinical trial networks.
