This isn't about having years of experience. It's about having the right foundations, the right attitude and the ambition to develop.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of ER cases and ensure appropriate follow-up.
  • Know when to seek advice and elevate matters involving greater complexity, risk or seniority.
  • Take part in ER case reviews and learning sessions to continuously develop your knowledge and capability.
Manager & Stakeholder Support
  • Build strong, credible relationships with managers and key stakeholders.
  • Become a reliable and approachable point of contact for day-to-day HR advice.
  • Encourage managers to engage with HR early, helping to resolve issues before they become more complex.
  • Support managers to understand their responsibilities around performance, conduct, consultation and other people matters.
  • Attend stakeholder meetings and provide proactive HR support where appropriate.
Policy, Process & Best Practice
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, processes and employment law principles.
  • Help ensure HR processes are applied consistently and fairly.
  • Support annual policy reviews and contribute to the development of new policies where required.
  • Help improve HR templates, guidance and manager toolkits.
  • Get involved in a variety of HR projects, giving you exposure beyond day‑to‑day advisory work.
Systems, Data & Reporting
  • Support the production of HR and ER reports and people metrics.
  • Use HR systems and data to identify trends and support conversations with managers.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
  • Help identify data gaps, inaccuracies and recurring people issues.Support the effective use of HR dashboards and reporting.

Be part of the team:

  • Work closely with the senior HR team and learn from experienced HR professionals.
  • Share ideas, knowledge and best practice with colleagues.
  • Support more junior members of the team as your own confidence develops.
  • Work collaboratively with HR Shared Services to ensure a seamless employee experience.
Essential Skills

You’ll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in an HR Assistant, experienced HR Coordinator or Junior HR Advisor position.
  • Practical exposure to employee relations cases and an understanding of how they should be managed.
  • A good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • The confidence and interpersonal skills to build relationships with managers and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach and a genuine desire to develop your HR career.
  • CIPD Level 3, ideally with a desire to progress towards or already working towards Level 5.
