Job summary

MDM Resourcing is recruiting for a newly created role to help develop the finance function of a growing listed group. Based in South Manchester, the role reports to the Group Financial Controller and offers exposure to financial controls, reporting and group projects.

You will work on statutory accounts, coordinating external audit, and contribute to improvements across financial processes as the business expands, with a view toward financial controller level roles.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who trained with a large national firm.
• Experience in industry welcomed; Audit Managers and Senior Audit Managers may apply.
• Experience in financial reporting, controls, and group projects is desirable.

Our client is an expanding listed business with an extensive multi-year track record of robust growth in both revenue and profits. The group is creating a new role to add depth to its finance team to support the continued development of the business.

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the role has three main strands:

• Development and improvement of financial controls
• Support on integrating acquisitions, systems improvements and other groupwide projects

On the Reporting side, you will help prepare Group and subsidiary statutory accounts, produce technical accounting papers and coordinate the external audit. On the Controls side, you will review financial processes across the Group, identify areas for improvement and help put practical changes in place that support the expansion of the business.

The combination of technical reporting, controls work and involvement across the business offers a strong foundation for longer-term progression towards a Financial Controller or Group Financial Controller role.

We are looking for an ACA or ACCA qualified accountant who trained with a large national firm. In addition to candidates who have already moved into industry, the company is open to considering experienced Audit Managers and Senior Audit Managers looking to make their first move from practice.
