Job summary

Clyde Munro is seeking a Group Financial Controller to lead core financial control and reporting for the group, reporting to the CFO and collaborating with the Head of FP&A and Senior Leadership Team. The role oversees the finance team (five direct reports) and manages month-end close, statutory reporting and audit, compliance, and working capital.

The successful candidate will drive finance process improvement, automation and data-led insights across finance, partnering with operational teams

Qualifications

• Qualified accountant (CA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) with at least 5 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience as Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager with financial reporting, control and transactional finance.
• Strong technical accounting capability including month-end reporting, statutory accounts, audits and compliance.
• Experience in multi-site or distributed business, ideally healthcare/dental/retail.
• Proven leadership of finance teams and ability to deliver to deadlines.
• Strong stakeholder management with senior leadership, investors and auditors.
• Experience improving finance processes and implementing BI reporting and automation.
• Analytical, problem-solving and detail-oriented with ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close and prepare monthly management accounts for group, regions and practices.
• Maintain strong financial controls across the group and reconcile balance sheets.
• Ensure integrity of reporting across main operating and holding structures.
• Lead statutory reporting, audit prep and regulatory compliance; manage external relationships.
• Oversee core finance operations including purchase and sales ledgers, banking and payroll finance.
• Support cash management, working capital discipline and short-term visibility.
• Develop the finance team and improve processes, systems and reporting.
• Collaborate with CFO, FP&A Head and SLT to provide financial insight and challenge.
