Job summary

The CFO HQ in Yeovil is seeking a commercially minded Group Financial Controller to own financial control, reporting and performance across UK and US entities. This senior role reports to the CFO and holds responsibility for leading the finance function with a clear focus on profitability and growth.

You will drive month-end close, budgets and forecasts, provide leadership-level financial insights, and partner with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve margins and cash flow

Qualifications

• Senior finance leader with proven track record in group financial control, reporting and performance improvement.
• Experience across multiple entities or internationally operating businesses.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital.
• Excellent commercial judgement with focus on pricing, margins and profitability.
• Demonstrated leadership developing teams and partnering with senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead group month-end and year-end close, management accounts and statutory reporting.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, variance analysis and financial performance reviews.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to CFO, Board and leadership.
• Support EBITDA growth through profitability analysis, cost control and investment decisions.
• Collaborate with commercial and operations teams on pricing, customer/product profitability and supplier agreements.
• Oversee cash flow forecasting, working capital, credit control and liquidity.
• Drive improvements in financial reporting, systems, processes and automation.
• Maintain strong governance, audit readiness and statutory compliance.
• Develop and mentor the finance team to build accountability and continuous improvement.
• Identify commercial opportunities and translate strategy into measurable results.
