Job description

A leading international investment management business is seeking to appoint a senior Financial Controller to join its senior finance team. This is a new role reflecting the organisation's continued growth and increasing scale through organic expansion and strategic acquisitions.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a broad finance leadership position with responsibility across financial control, reporting, governance and the continued development of the Group finance function. The Finance Director will also play a key role in supporting acquisitions and integration, while driving improvements through technology, automation and AI.

The role combines senior-level influence with a hands-on approach and offers significant exposure to the CFO and wider leadership team, with genuine scope to shape the future direction of finance as the business continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take senior ownership of the Group financial control environment, management reporting and statutory reporting.
  • Act as a key business partner to the CFO and senior leadership, providing financial insight and constructive challenge.
  • Lead finance involvement in acquisitions, including due diligence, transaction support and post-acquisition integration.
  • Ensure finance processes, controls and reporting remain scalable as the business grows internationally.
  • Drive finance transformation through improved systems, automation, data and AI-enabled solutions.
  • Oversee the year-end audit and relationships with auditors, tax advisers and other professional advisers.
  • Provide senior oversight across budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and wider financial planning.
  • Develop the finance team and support the CFO on broader strategic and commercial initiatives.

Experience Required

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or equivalent.
  • Significant post-qualified experience within investment management, funds or a closely related financial services environment.
  • Experience operating at Group Financial Controller, Finance Director or equivalent senior finance level.
  • Strong technical accounting, reporting and financial control credentials combined with a commercial mindset.
  • Excellent senior stakeholder management skills and the credibility to influence and challenge.
  • Experience of acquisitions, integration or finance transformation would be highly advantageous.
  • A track record of improving finance through technology, automation or AI-enabled solutions would be beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful and acquisitive international investment management business in a highly visible role. Working closely with the CFO, you will have significant influence over the continued development of the finance function and its ability to support the next phase of the Group's growth.
