Job summary

Tailored Search Recruitment is seeking an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller to join the finance leadership team on a 12-month fixed-term contract in Birmingham with hybrid working.

You will own monthly group consolidation, lead the year-end audit, drive IFRS 16 implementation and lead the Group Financial Control and Controllership function, requiring ACA/ACCA qualification and strong stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification required.
• Experience at Group Financial Controller level, interim or permanent.
• Strong IFRS accounting knowledge.
• Experience in complex, multi-site or multi-entity business.
• Proven group consolidations experience.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly group consolidation and production of consolidated management accounts.
• Lead the year-end audit process and statutory accounts preparation for the 2026 financial year.
• Drive the completion and finalisation of the business's IFRS 16 implementation.
• Lead, develop and support the Group Financial Control and Controllership team.
• Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance across the business.
• Partner closely with the Head of FP&A to ensure alignment between financial reporting and business performance.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and advisers.
• Drive continuous improvement across reporting processes, controls and systems.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support to the wider finance function.

Interim Group Financial Controller (12-Month FTC)

The Opportunity

A high-growth business is seeking an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller to join the finance leadership team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will provide maternity cover whilst supporting the business through a period of continued growth, transformation and strategic development.

Working closely with senior leadership team you will take ownership of the Group's financial control environment, lead the annual audit process and ensure the timely delivery of accurate consolidated financial reporting across a complex, multi-site operation.

About You

• ACA or ACCA qualified.

• Strong technical accounting knowledge, including experience with IFRS reporting.
• Experience within a complex, multi-site or multi-entity business.
• Strong group consolidations experience.
• Comfortable leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
