Sheffield Head Office | Full-Time | £40m Group Turnover | 6 Legal Entities
Lead Finance. Drive Growth. Shape the Future.

We're looking for an ambitious and commercially minded Group Finance Manager to join our growing business at an exciting stage of its journey. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of the finance function across six legal entities, ensuring robust financial control, high-quality reporting, effective cash management and scalable processes that support continued growth.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional who enjoys combining hands-on financial leadership with strategic business partnering. You'll play a key role in improving systems and processes, supporting acquisitions, developing a talented finance team and providing financial insight that helps drive business performance.

The Opportunity

As Group Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across the group, whilst ensuring strong governance, balance sheet integrity and effective risk management. You will act as a trusted business partner to senior stakeholders, helping shape decisions through commercial analysis and financial insight.

Beyond the day-to-day financial management, you'll contribute to acquisition and integration projects, support the transition from Xero to Sage X3, and champion continuous improvement across finance systems, controls and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the month-end process across all group entities.
  • Produce and review consolidated management accounts, variance analysis and performance commentary.
  • Manage intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with group accounting policies and reporting standards.
Balance Sheet Management
  • Maintain complete ownership of balance sheet integrity across the group.
  • Review, challenge and approve reconciliations.
  • Resolve legacy and reconciling items.
  • Ensure audit-ready records and supporting documentation.
Cashflow, Banking & Treasury
  • Manage banking relationships and cash positions across the group.
  • Own cashflow forecasting and reporting.
  • Authorise payments within established controls.
  • Monitor cash movements and provide visibility to senior stakeholders.
Payroll, VAT & Statutory Compliance
  • Review and approve payroll processes.
  • Oversee VAT returns and related compliance requirements.
  • Support year-end accounts preparation and external audits.
  • Build effective relationships with auditors and external advisors.
Commercial Finance & Business Partnering
  • Support financial modelling, forecasting and commercial analysis.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve business performance.
  • Provide proactive challenge, insight and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities, risks and cost‑saving initiatives.
Acquisitions & Integration
  • Assess finance processes and controls within acquired businesses.
  • Assist with integration activities, reporting alignment and control implementation.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across newly acquired companies.
  • Help lead the finance systems roadmap, supporting the transition from Xero to Sage X3.
  • Drive automation, standardisation and process improvements.
  • Strengthen financial controls and governance across the group.
  • Embed best practice policies and procedures.
Leadership
  • Lead, coach and develop the finance team.
  • Create a high‑performance, collaborative culture.
  • Ensure resilience, succession planning and capability development within the function.
About You

You are a qualified accountant with strong technical expertise and a proven track record in a multi‑entity environment. Equally comfortable in the detail and the bigger picture, you thrive in fast‑paced businesses where you can influence change and make a tangible impact.

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified.
  • Significant management accounting experience within a group or multi‑entity environment.
  • Strong understanding of consolidations, intercompany accounting and balance sheet control.
  • Experience managing month‑end processes and management reporting.
  • Cashflow management, payment authorisation and payroll oversight experience.
  • Strong financial controls and risk management capability.
  • Experience leading and developing finance professionals.
  • Advanced finance systems knowledge, including Xero, Sage X3 or similar ERP platforms.
  • Acquisition and business integration experience.
  • Experience operating within a £30m‑£50m turnover business.
  • Finance system implementation or ERP transformation experience.
Personal Attributes
  • Commercially astute with a strong control mindset.
  • Proactive, pragmatic and solutions‑focused.
  • Comfortable operating in a changing and fast‑growing environment.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
  • Naturally curious with a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Takes ownership and delivers results.
