Marks Sattin is assisting a PE-backed manufacturing client in Essex to recruit a Group Finance Manager. You will own statutory reporting, lead group consolidation, and oversee management accounts for multiple entities.

The ideal candidate is a qualified ACA/ACCA with IFRS/UK GAAP expertise and the ability to lead a small team while delivering accurate, timely financial reporting. Strong Excel skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

Responsabilités

• Take ownership of statutory financial statements across multiple Group entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and reporting deadlines.
• Lead the year-end audit process, coordinating with external auditors and delivering required information.
• Oversee monthly management accounts and Group consolidation, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage quarterly financial reporting including supporting schedules and analysis.
• Provide technical accounting guidance and support accounting changes.
• Oversee corporation tax and VAT compliance across jurisdictions with advisers.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journals and financial controls for improvements.
• Take responsibility for fixed asset accounting and financing/corporate transaction accounting matters.
• Develop and manage junior finance team members with guidance and oversight.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to improve reporting procedures and internal controls.

Our PE-backed client in the manufacturing industry is looking for a new Group Finance Manager to join their team, based in Essex. This is a key senior position where you will lead on the statutory reporting, group consolidation and management accounts process across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of statutory financial statements across multiple Group entities, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and reporting deadlines.
• Lead the year-end audit process, acting as the primary contact for external auditors and coordinating financial information and deliverables.
• Oversee monthly management accounts and Group consolidation, ensuring consistency, accuracy and timely reporting.
• Manage quarterly financial reporting requirements, including the preparation of supporting schedules and analysis.
• Provide technical accounting guidance, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and supporting the implementation of accounting changes.
• Oversee corporation tax and VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions, working alongside external advisers.
• Review balance sheet reconciliations, journals and financial controls, identifying opportunities to strengthen reporting processes.
• Take responsibility for fixed asset accounting and support technical accounting matters relating to financing and corporate transactions.
• Manage and develop junior finance team members, providing guidance, oversight and support.
• Partner with senior finance stakeholders to improve reporting procedures, enhance internal controls and support wider finance transformation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) with strong technical accounting knowledge and ability to lead a small team. A high level of IFRS/ UK GAAP exposure, and ability to contribute commercially is needed to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. Strong systems ability including excel is also necessary for the role.
