Nova Stars Group is a growing healthcare organisation seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to own the day-to-day finance function and provide strategic financial insight. You will work closely with the CEO, Directors and Senior Leadership Team to strengthen controls and scale the business sustainably.

The role covers monthly management accounts, budgets, cash flow, payroll, VAT and external audits across multiple sites, with a focus on process improvements and automation.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Senior Finance Officer.
• Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or AAT Level 4.
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills.
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills.
• Experience with cloud-based accounting; Xero desirable.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
• Experience in health or social care sector is advantageous, multi-site.

Build the Financial Future of a Growing Healthcare Group

Nova Stars Group is a rapidly growing healthcare group supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism and Mental Health conditions through specialist residential, supported living and transitional services.

We’re looking for an experienced, commercially minded Finance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function and provide financial insight that supports growth and strategic decision‑making.

Working closely with the CEO, Directors and Senior Leadership Team, you’ll play a key role in strengthening financial controls, improving processes and helping the Group scale sustainably.

The Role

• Producing monthly management accounts across multiple group companies
• Managing budgets, forecasts and cash flow
• Analysing financial performance and providing commercial insight
• Overseeing purchase and sales ledgers, reconciliations and banking
• Overseeing payroll
• Ensuring VAT, statutory reporting and financial compliance are completed accurately and on time
• Supporting year‑end accounts and external audits
• Developing financial controls, systems and reporting
• Working with operational teams to improve financial performance
• Supporting acquisitions, new service mobilisation and business growth
• Identifying opportunities for automation and process improvement

We’re looking for a Finance Manager with:

• Experience as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant or Senior Finance Officer
• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting skills
• Excellent Excel and analytical skills
• Experience with cloud‑based accounting systems; Xero experience is desirable
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities
• A proactive, commercially focused approach with a passion for improving processes
• Previous finance experience within the health or social care sector would be highly advantageous, particularly within a multi‑site or growing organisation

Systems

• You’ll work with Xero, BrightHR and Blip, with training provided where required.
