Are you an experienced finance professional ready to make a significant impact in the healthcare sector? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Director of Finance to join a client with growth ambitions. With an award-winning reputation, they manage a number of care homes with exciting developments on the horizon. About the Role:


As the Director of Finance, you will be at the helm of all financial functions, guiding a finance team to success while collaborating closely with stakeholders and leadership. Your responsibilities will include:



  • Leading the finance team and overseeing management accounts, credit control, sales ledger, purchase ledger, and payroll.

  • Establishing and maintaining accounting control procedures, ensuring compliance with policies.

  • Preparing and reviewing financial reports for all subsidiaries, including monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.

  • Forecasting and managing cash flow, with a keen eye on financial analysis and variance reporting.

  • Collaborating with home managers and relevant authorities to resolve financial challenges, ensuring smooth operations on-site.

  • Liaising with banks regarding loans, credit facilities, and reporting requirements.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Drive the preparation of statutory accounts and audit files, liaising with external auditors.

  • Produce and monitor annual budgets and company forecasts, identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Assist care homes in setting up contracts with private clients, local councils, and the NHS.

  • Negotiate with suppliers to establish preferred supplier lists for the organisation.

  • Innovate and enhance efficiency by implementing new systems and leveraging technology.

  • Conduct regular business reviews and support home management with financial guidance.


About You:


To thrive in this role, you will need:



  • A relevant accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience.

  • Proven expertise in finance, ideally within the care sector, handling standard finance functions.

  • Strong proficiency in finance-related IT systems (e.g., Sage, XERO) and advanced Excel skills.

  • A talent for developing and mentoring a high-achieving team while fostering a collaborative environment.

  • Excellent reporting skills, with the ability to balance multiple objectives under tight deadlines.

  • Strong commercial acumen, motivation, and attention to detail.
