Job summary

Marlborough Group is seeking a Group Finance Analyst to join the Finance team in Bolton. The role focuses on preparing and analysing monthly and quarterly reporting, supporting budgeting and forecasting, and helping to automate the reporting suite for timely board-ready information.

You will partner with other business units, develop FP&A tools, and act as a superuser for reporting systems, including Salesforce integration.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review monthly accounts, adjust entries, and produce reporting packs.
• Analyze results and explain variances vs. budget.
• Prepare and maintain budgets and forecasts for the group.
• Develop and automate the reporting suite with other analysts.
• Provide business partnering support across teams.
• Support FP&A system development and Salesforce integration.
• Act as system superuser for reporting capabilities.
• Improve controls and processes in the group finance function.
• Assist with regulatory returns and ad hoc projects (M&A, due diligence, pricing).

Job Title: Group Finance Analyst

Department: Finance

Location: Bolton

Hours of work: 35 hours (Monday - Friday 9:00am-5:00pm)

Holiday Entitlement: 25 days plus statutory bank holidays

Role Purpose:

Joining the Financial Planning & Analysis team, the Group Finance Analyst will produce and analyse the group's monthly and quarterly reporting, support the budgeting and forecasting cycle and help develop and automating the reporting suite, so the board and senior management have clear, timely information for strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review the monthly accounts, implement the required accounting adjustments and produce monthly and quarterly reporting packs.
• Analyse results, explaining variances to prior periods and budget, and other measures such as fund performance against AUM.
• Prepare and maintain budgets and forecasts across the group.
• Develop, improve and automate the current suite of reports alongside the other analysts.
• Provide business partnering support to other teams within the organisation.
• Support the development of the financial planning system including integration with group systems such as Salesforce.
• Act as a superuser of current systems, providing assistance and guidance on reporting capabilities.
• Work with the wider Group Finance team to improve controls and processes.
• Assist with regulatory and other returns.
• Support ad hoc projects such as M&A, financial due diligence and pricing models and assist other group functions as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

Essential Skills:

• Good numerical skills.

Essential Qualifications:

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA/ACA/CIMA).

Beneficial Qualifications:

• Completion or working towards the IOC (Investment Operations Certification) qualification.
