Job summary

William Reed, based near Gatwick, is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. You will ensure accuracy and compliance of financial reporting across UK entities, support group consolidations, and provide technical accounting guidance in a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.

The role requires ACA/ACCA or equivalent, strong knowledge of UK/IFRS reporting, and experience with ERP and reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • AC A/ACCA or equivalent professional qualification is required.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge including statutory reporting, governance and controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools to produce and interpret financial information.
  • Familiarity with UK and international accounting standards (FRS102, IFRS) and multi-entity group reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly and annual financial reporting for UK entities in compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Liaising with auditors, advisers and international finance teams to support reporting and compliance.
  • Producing group consolidations and multi-currency reporting across entities; solving complex accounting issues.

Financial Accountant

Description

As a Financial Accountant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and compliance of financial reporting across the Group. Working across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions, you'll help deliver high-quality financial information that informs business decision-making, regulatory compliance and effective financial governance.

This is a hands-on role where you'll apply your technical accounting expertise across financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax and financial controls. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business, as well as auditors, advisers and international finance teams, helping to resolve complex accounting issues, maintain robust governance frameworks and drive continuous improvement in financial processes and reporting.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Preparing accurate monthly and annual financial reporting for UK entities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Building effective relationships with auditors, advisers, regulators and finance stakeholders to support reporting, assurance and compliance activities
  • Producing Group consolidations and multi-currency reporting, resolving complex accounting issues and ensuring consistency across international entities
  • Providing technical accounting guidance on the application of accounting standards, policies and regulatory requirements
  • Supporting the delivery of statutory, regulatory and tax compliance obligations across UK and international operations
  • Identifying opportunities to improve financial processes, systems and controls, enhancing efficiency and the quality of financial information across the Group
  • Contributing to treasury and cash management activities while maintaining strong financial governance and control standards
What You’ll Need
  • A professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or equivalent
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge, including statutory reporting, financial governance and financial controls
  • Experience using ERP systems and reporting tools to produce, evaluate and interpret financial information
  • Knowledge of UK and international financial reporting requirements, including FRS102, IFRS and statutory accounting obligations
  • Experience of group reporting, financial consolidations and working within a multi-entity environment
  • Knowledge of UK and international tax requirements, including corporate tax, indirect taxes and transfer pricing principles
  • The ability to interpret complex financial information and apply sound professional judgement to resolve accounting issues and advise stakeholders
