Job Title: Group Facilitator (Flourish - Refugee and Asylum Seeker Service)

Reference Number: 285

Salary Scale: £27,000 per annum, pro rata

Contracted Hours: 30 hours per week, Part-Time

Contract Length: Permanent

Working Base: Hertfordshire Countywide

Reports To: Senior Groups Coordinator

About The Service

This service is part of our Complex Needs and Community Services, providing informal drop-in groups for Refugees and Asylum Seekers. The groups focus on improving emotional wellbeing and mental health, offering a safe space to connect, engage in creative activities, and develop confidence and self-esteem, aiding integration into Hertfordshire and the UK.

Service Objectives
  • Provide advice, information, and holistic support to clients with mental health issues.
  • Support social network building and reduce isolation, including developing peer support networks.
  • Monitor and review client safety and wellbeing regularly.
  • Remain an independent support resource for clients.
  • Apply a person-centered and solution-focused approach.
  • Work trauma-informed, prioritizing clients' emotional and practical needs.
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote and facilitate Flourish peer support groups.
  • Instill HMNs values through the service.
  • Collaborate as part of a team.
  • Contribute to developing and delivering quality support services.
  • Plan and prepare weekly sessions with clear aims and materials.
  • Ensure refugees and asylum seekers feel safe and supported.
  • Maintain diversity in sessions.
  • Liaise with translators as needed.

  • 25 days annual leave pro rata, increasing to 29 days after 5 years, plus 8 Bank Holidays.
