Job summary

Aviva is seeking a Group External Reporting Manager in the UK with a strong background in financial services and insurance. The role focuses on external messaging, IFRS targets, and the full regulatory/reporting suite, working within a high-performing Group External Reporting Team.

You will collaborate across the Group with FP&A, investor relations, and other functions, supporting accurate consolidation and timely reporting in a 50% hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with Big 4 training.
• Experience in financial services or insurance, including IFRS 17.
• Ability to produce analyses, reports, and disclosures with clear explanations.
• Strong stakeholder management across multiple teams.
• Adaptable in fast-moving, high-pressure environment with robust governance.

Group External Reporting Manager

Location: York, Norwich, Bristol, Sheffield, Glasgow or Perth based (50% hybrid working)

Salary: circa £55,000

This is a great opportunity for a Big 4 qualified accountant with experience within the financial services industry, preferably insurance, who wishes to develop their career within the UK’s largest composite insurance company, coming 2nd in the UK’s great place to work listing for super large companies in 2026.

A bit about the job:

In Consolidation & Reporting you will be an integral part of the high performing Group External Reporting Team, which works together with multiple senior stakeholders on external messaging of results and tracking against IFRS targets as well as the completion of the regulatory and statutory reporting suite for Aviva Group, including annual reporting, interim half year results and quarterly business performance. The Group Consolidation & Reporting function is the foundation of reporting, gaining a deep understanding of the whole business.

The team provides results messaging and insights for external purposes, for Plc Audit Committee and Board and other relevant internal committees and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial consolidation and reporting processes are maintained, reporting timelines are adhered to, and key controls are operating effectively.

The successful candidate will work proactively, develop collaborative relationships across the Group(including business units, FP&A, investor relations,technical accounting,sustainabilityandmedia), and will be responsible for key aspects of Group reporting processes that support Aviva’s deliverables and strategic messaging, making it a great place to launch a career within Aviva.

Please note that previous Financial Services or Insurance experience is essential to be successful in this role.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent), ideally with Big 4 training and post-qualified experience within financial services or insurance, including experience of IFRS 17 reporting requirements.
• Experience producing financial analysis, reports, presentations and disclosures, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and confidently.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working across multiple teams to deliver high-quality reporting outcomes.
• Adaptability in a fast moving, high pressured environment, keen to be proactive and embrace change, balancing competing priorities while maintaining robust controls and governance standards.
• Advanced planning and decision making is essential for effective delivery. Financial reporting forms part of Aviva’s regular reporting cycle, with deliveries due on a quarterly and annual basis.
