An exciting opportunity for a Group Credit Manager has become available at our Head Office. This challenging yet rewarding role involves leading Credit Control for our group of companies, reporting to the Finance Director. The role will oversee credit-related activities such as managing risk, developing and implementing credit policies, and managing the team. This is an office-based role at our Head Office in Shirley, near the M42.

The successful candidate will:

• Have prior experience working within a busy credit control team
• Have strong financial understanding
• Possess problem-solving abilities
• Be confident in leading a team
• Be self-motivated and driven
• Have excellent communication skills, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the success of the credit function

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing relationships with Credit Insurers, monitoring insured limits, submitting claims, and negotiating renewals
• Leading monthly meetings with senior management
• Providing management information on debts, debtor days, collections, and ad-hoc reports
• Overseeing cash collection across all group companies
• Ensuring departmental systems and protocols are effective and enforced
• Managing the Credit Control Department and team
• Processing credit applications and PODs
• Making major or sensitive credit decisions
• Controlling credit limits
• Handling litigation, insolvency, and pursuing claims
• Setting and managing credit policies and credit notes
• Assessing risks for existing and new credit accounts
• Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders
• Reviewing sales Terms and Conditions
• Visiting customers and sites as needed
