Job description

Group Communications Manager

Location: UK | Salary: £50,000–£55,000 per annum | Hours: Full time, Permanent | Working pattern: Remote First with expectation to attend the office when needed.

For over 100 years, Westfield Health has been on a mission to make a healthy difference to our customers, our colleagues and the communities we work in. What began in Sheffield as a way to help people access affordable healthcare has grown into an international health and wellbeing company, trusted by more than 8,000 businesses and 400,000 people across the UK and Europe. We're proud of our not-for-profit roots: with no shareholders, the more successful we are, the more we can give back. We believe healthy people are happier and more productive, so we bring together evidence, insight and genuine care to help people and businesses be at their healthy, productive best, approaching every challenge with curiosity, taking ownership of the outcome, and always putting people first. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to build a career, we'd love to hear from you.

About the role

At Westfield Health Group, communication is more than sharing information. It is how we connect colleagues to our purpose, bring our culture to life, and create the conditions for people and teams to thrive. As Group Communications Manager, you will shape and lead our internal communications strategy across Westfield Health and Rova Health. You will act as a trusted adviser to senior leaders, turning organisational objectives into clear, compelling communication that builds understanding, trust and commitment. You will also champion colleague voice and lead the move to a modern, mobile-first communications environment.

We're looking for someone who lives The Westfield Way. You're a great listener who builds trust, encourages open dialogue and makes sure colleague feedback is acted on. Bringing people together, you can naturally build strong relationships across teams and are always curious about better ways to communicate and engage. You'll take ownership, create clarity and follow through on your commitments. Above all, your enthusiasm, authenticity and optimism help colleagues feel connected, empowered and motivated to do their best.

Your responsibilities

Strategic internal communications

  • Working with Marketing and Brand teams, create compelling narratives that connect colleagues to our purpose, strategy and ambitions.

  • Lead communication plans that support strategic initiatives, cultural change and a high-performing, values-led and customer-focused culture.

  • Act as the guardian of the internal narrative, ensuring consistency, authenticity and alignment across all communications.

Leadership communications

  • Partner with leaders to prepare clear, authentic and impactful briefings, presentations, speeches and key messaging.

  • Coach leaders to communicate effectively, confidently and empathetically.

  • Increase leadership visibility through town halls, colleague forums, leadership events and digital channels.

Colleague engagement & events

  • Partnering with stakeholders across the Group, use colleague insight to design and deliver events and campaigns that reinforce our priorities, values and culture.

  • Manage the communications and colleague events calendar, ensuring priority messaging is delivered on time.

Communication channels and content

  • Own and continuously improve internal communication channels, ensuring they remain relevant, engaging and effective.

  • Lead editorial planning and communication governance, ensuring planning is robust, transparent and accessible.

  • Create and oversee high-quality, inclusive content across all internal channels and formats, aligned to our brand and values.

Change and transformation communications

  • Lead communication strategies and plans for change, transformation and business improvement programmes, helping colleagues understand the rationale, benefits and impact.

  • Equip leaders to communicate change consistently, with clarity, transparency and empathy.

  • Identify communication risks and opportunities, monitor colleague sentiment and adjust approaches accordingly.

Communications infrastructure

  • Develop and deliver a roadmap for modernising communication platforms and tools to meet the needs of a dispersed and evolving workforce.

  • Identify opportunities to use technology and innovation to improve accessibility, reach and colleague experience.

  • Use insight and analytics to optimise platform adoption, channel performance and communications impact.

Management responsibilities

  • Lead, coach and develop the Communications Executive, creating a positive and high-performing team environment.

  • Ensure effective prioritisation and resource management across communications activity.
