Job summary

Elior UK is looking for a Relief Chef to proactively manage and support a catering team while driving cost control and culinary excellence across sites in the UK.

You will lead operations, ensure food safety and quality, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues. The role offers team leadership, flexibility and opportunities for growth within a respected catering group.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience with catering teams.
• Strong customer service focus.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced catering environment.
• Experience in contract catering is desirable.
• Senior chef management experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, train, support and develop staff to deliver a high‑quality service to Elior UK, customers and clients.
• Maintain, order and control food stocks within budget.
• Ensure ongoing team communications and client liaison to enable operational excellence.
• Ensure COSHH, Food Safety, H&S compliance and duty of care to customers and colleagues.
• Attend other sites as required to support operational needs.

What you'll be doing...

As a Relief Chef you will be proactively managing and supporting a catering team as well as creating a platform for financial growth through cost control and culinary excellence.

• Recruiting, training, supporting and people development to deliver an efficient, high quality service to Elior UK, customer and client
• Maintaining, ordering and controlling food stocks within budget
• Ensuring ongoing team communications, including building internal and external relationships, management reporting and client liaison to enable operational excellence
• Accountable for COSHH, Food Safety, H&S, legal regulations, environmental policies and duty of care to customer and colleagues
• Attending other sites, including Cummins Turbo (Huddersfield HD1 6RA) and Graphic Packaging (Leeds LS11 5LX), as required to support operational needs

Working Pattern: 5 Days Out Of 7 | 40 Hours Per Week
