About the role
As Group Business Director, you will be based in our office in London - reporting directly to our MD Josh Woodhouse, alongside 3 other experienced Group Business Director. We are looking for a confident & tenacious individual to maintain and grow a thriving business patch responsible for circa £15M. This role is ideal for someone who has Sales and Collaborative Leadership experience. Podcasts are a vibrant piece of the media jigsaw right now and we’re looking for someone to jump in with a growth mindset, infectious energy and unshakeable integrity.

Term of contract: Maternity Cover starting Aug/Sep

What you´ll do

Management and development of all sales personnel within direct line:

  • Support and care comes first at Acast, ensuring your team are supported, happy and motivated to succeed is number one priority

  • Deliver specific development plans for each of your individual sellers - mandating the expectation for successful sellers at Acast

  • Maintain top level escalation point for all sellers within the group

  • Manage all group based holiday efficiently, ensuring cover is planned across all planned holiday

  • Manage all expenses at group level, ensuring spend is managed and delivered in the most effective way driving strategic agency engagement

  • Lead by example - remain the base of knowledge for your teams and firmly establish yourselves as the leaders of the sales team!

  • Represent Acast at key industry events

  • Creative problem solving and resolving challenges: As in any growing business, we often encounter new and unforeseen challenges in the commercial space which requires creative thinking and clear actions, often involving multiple stakeholders to deliver a solution

Comprehensive delivery of patch specific commercial strategy:

  • As a Senior commercial ambassador you’ll ensure that Acast continues to be regarded as the leading podcast marketplace in the world. You will be a senior expert in the podcasting space, regularly updating and informing your agencies and clients on all the latest news across Sales, Content & Ad Tech. Your thought leadership will be highly regarded amongst internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build and nurture relationships with senior contacts across the patch

  • Represent the ultimate knowledge base for your agency/client patches, working collaboratively with the Commercial Sales Team to deliver a bespoke commercial strategy at group level that is followed and delivered by each of your sellers at agency/client level

  • Ensure sellers deliver a comprehensive coverage of agency/client set within each group

  • Become established as the commercial leader within your agency/client set for all top tier conversations

  • Each Q, identify specific agency/client level opportunities/challenges and deliver a group level strategy that will help take advantage of opportunities and overcome any challenges

Senior support across largest commercial opportunities:

  • Core point of senior support for sellers in pitch, negotiation and close stage of sales cycle

  • Utilise seniority to show prioritisation of key strategic clients and improve chances of conversion

  • Utilise seniority to coach sellers through the sales cycle and empower them to deliver wider opportunities

  • Lean in to support Creator Network in upskilling Podcast talent in commercial packages

Who you are

  • Proven team management experience

  • Exposure to large agency groups and established relationships with Senior Agency contacts (preferably Group M/WPP)

  • Strong understanding of the podcast landscape and wider audio industry as a whole

  • Knowledgeable around video/social
