Job summary

SKAO seeks a Group Accountant to consolidate monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts and to manage the year-end process with external audit. The role covers fixed assets and Member Contribution revenue within the OBS ledger with IFRS compliance.

You will coordinate across UK, Australia and South Africa finance teams, drive process improvements, maintain internal control documentation, and support ERP system enhancements while meeting tight deadlines.

Qualifications

• CCAB accounting qualification or near-qualified (ACCA/ACA/CIPFA preferred).
• Experience in group finance or management accounting.
• StrongExcel, IFRS knowledge and financial statement preparation.
• Ability to coordinate multi-site finance activities.

Responsibilities

• Consolidate monthly group management accounts, budgets and forecasts with clear variance commentary.
• Oversee year-end process and coordinate external audit across UK/Australia/South Africa.
• Manage fixed assets and Member Contribution revenue within the OBS ledger.
• Prepare group statutory financial statements and ensure IFRS compliance.
• Develop and maintain Internal Control Statements and improve finance processes.
