A groundworks and subcontractor company is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial aspects of projects involving groundworks and reinforced concrete. The position is site-based in Bridgwater, with potential for remote work. Responsibilities include cost forecasting, managing variations, and commercial reporting. Candidates should have relevant experience and a strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts. This role offers competitive salary potential between £60,000 and £80,000, with digs provided for site work as needed.

Responsibilities

• Commercial management of groundworks and RC packages
• Cost forecasting, valuations and cash flow management
• Preparation and submission of applications for payment
• Managing variations, change control and final accounts
• Working under NEC and JCT forms of contract
• Procurement and management of supply chain subcontractors
• Supporting site teams with commercial reporting and risk management

Skills

Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within groundworks and/or reinforced concrete

Strong understanding of subcontractor commercial processes

Working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts

Confidence managing packages independently on live projects
