Job summary

EA Associates in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, is recruiting an experienced Pipelayer for a long-term groundworks project. The role is based on site with immediate start for an initial 6-month contract, with potential extension.

You will handle deep drainage and below-ground pipework, work in deep excavations with laser-controlled levels, set out and join pipe runs, and adhere to strict safety guidelines. Valid CSCS and the ability to work as part of a team are essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Pipelayer on groundworks projects.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Confident working in deep excavations.
• Good understanding of excavation safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.
• Additional tickets advantageous: CPCS/NPORS, EUSR Blue Card, lifting/excavation qualifications.

Responsibilities

Duration: 6 months initially, with the potential for longer-term work

We are currently recruiting for an experienced and skilled Pipelayer to join an established Groundworks contractor on a long-term project in Bury St Edmunds.

This is an excellent opportunity for a competent operative with a strong background in deep drainage and below-ground pipe installation.

The successful candidate will need experience in:

• Deep drainage and pipelaying.
• Installing below-ground drainage systems and pipework.
• Working in deep excavations and confined trench environments.
• Setting out and laying pipes to accurate levels and gradients using laser equipment.
• Working with trench boxes, shoring and other excavation support systems.
• Reading and working from site drawings and specifications.
• Following strict health and safety procedures at all times.

Essential requirements:

• Proven experience as a Pipelayer on groundworks projects.
• Valid CSCS card.
• Confident working in deep excavations.
• Good understanding of excavation safety and safe working practices.
• Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team.

Additional tickets / qualifications advantageous:

6 months' work available initially, with the potential for a much longer run for the right person.
