Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a Civils Operative for Yorkshire Water - WWSA in Low Moor, Bradford. 47.5 hours per week at £14.00–£15.50 per hour with overtime at time and a half.

You will carry out groundwork, install and maintain pumping systems, and document site activities using an electronic tablet. Join a safety‑driven team delivering civil engineering and drainage works across the region, requiring a full UK driving licence and a civils background, with strong teamwork and health & safety

Qualifications

• Full UK driving license.
• Civils background ideally from Utilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong awareness of health, safety and environmental procedures.
• Ability to identify and report defects, hazards and issues proactively.

Responsibilities

• Carry out groundwork tasks such as digging trenches and laying pipes.
• Install and maintain over-pumping systems and safe excavations.
• Updating and completing site documentation using an electronic tablet.
• Operate machinery and tools safely to assist with tasks.
• Perform daily vehicle checks and maintenance.
• Maintain equipment and ensure it is in good working condition.
• Wear and maintain PPE at all times.
• Ensure live on- and off-sites to avoid highway penalties.
• Reading and understand drainage plans.
• Record photographic evidence of jobs performed.
