Job summary

Robert Gordon University is seeking a Groundsperson for a one-year fixed-term role. You will join the Estates and Property Services grounds team to maintain lawns, hedges, trees and plantings, and support janitorial duties when needed on a busy campus along the River Dee.

The role requires proven grounds maintenance experience and knowledge of horticultural machinery. A full driving licence and pesticides certification are essential, with on-call winter duties and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• First aid training or willingness to undertake
• Use of pesticides certification (PA1/PA6A/AW)
• Full driving licence

Responsibilities

• Collects and removes litter
• Maintains lawn mowers and grounds equipment
• Maintains trees and shrubbery
• Applies fertilisers and weedkillers
• Uplifts leaves in autumn
• Hedge cutting
• Pruning of shrubs
• Turfing, planting and seeding
• Snow and ice clearing on an on-call rota (Nov–Feb)
• Assist in janitorial duties when required
• Carries out other related duties as may be assigned
