Job summary

Whitgift School in Croydon is seeking a proactive Groundsman to maintain cricket pitches, hybrid sports surfaces, lawns and landscaped areas to a high standard while keeping grounds safe for sport and education.

The role supports school events, equipment maintenance and estate upkeep; experience in grounds maintenance or sports turf, and qualifications in horticulture or grounds maintenance are preferred, with safety certifications advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or sports turf management.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Relevant certifications would be advantageous.
• Commitment to health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain cricket pitches, hybrid sports surfaces, lawns and landscaped areas to a high standard.
• Support school events and the general upkeep of the estate.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.
• Ensure grounds remain safe and fit for educational and community use.
