Job summary

Ardencote Manor in Warwickshire is seeking a Grounds Person to join the team and care for our gardens, grounds and outdoor spaces throughout the year. The role is full-time and permanent, with a salary of £28,000 per year, located at Ardencote Manor in the Warwickshire countryside.

You will work with the Estate & Facilities Manager to maintain high standards for our guests, performing mowing, planting, and general grounds upkeep in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

No formal horticultural qualifications required.
Must be practical, reliable and enjoy outdoor work.
Ability to use tools and equipment safely.
Able to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding and watering the grounds.
Caring for lawns, gardens, plants, trees and shrubs.
Keep pathways and outdoor areas clean and free from leaves and debris.
Assist with seasonal planting and landscaping projects.
Plant trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants.
Monitor health and condition of the grounds and report concerns.
Operate grounds maintenance tools and machinery safely.
Support seasonal maintenance throughout the year.
Contribute to improvements to gardens and landscaped areas.

We’re looking for a Grounds Person to join the team at Ardencote, helping us care for our gardens, grounds and outdoor areas throughout the year

Set within beautiful Warwickshire countryside, Ardencote is a destination hotel and spa where the appearance of our grounds plays an important part in the experience we create for our guests. From lawns and landscaped gardens to pathways and planting, you’ll help make sure our outdoor spaces are always safe, welcoming and beautifully presented

What You’ll Be Doing

Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding and watering
Caring for lawns, gardens, plants, trees and shrubs
Keeping pathways and outdoor areas clean, tidy and free from leaves and debris
Helping with seasonal planting and landscaping projects
Planting trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants
Keeping an eye on the health and condition of our grounds and reporting any concerns
Using grounds maintenance tools and machinery safely
Helping with seasonal maintenance throughout the year
Supporting improvements to our gardens and landscaped areas

You’ll work closely with our Estate & Facilities Manager and wider team, planning your work around the operation of the hotel and spa and helping us maintain the high standards our guests expect

About You

You don’t necessarily need formal horticultural qualifications. What’s most important is that you’re practical, reliable and enjoy working outdoors

Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping or grounds maintenance would be an advantage, particularly if you have experience using grounds maintenance machinery or knowledge of plants, lawns, pests and diseases — but we’d also welcome applications from people with the right attitude and a genuine interest in the role

Additional Information

40 hours per week – Full-Time permanent position
Working 5 days out of 7 per week (including weekends and bank holidays, you will need to be flexible to the business needs)
Right to work in the UK required as time of application (visa sponsorship is not available)
Salary: £28,000 per annum
