Job summary

Ardencote Manor is seeking a Grounds Person to care for our gardens, grounds and outdoor areas at our Warwickshire retreat. This full-time, permanent role involves outdoor, practical work to keep the estates looking welcoming and well-presented.

You'll mow, trim, weed, water and plant, maintain lawns and borders, and work with our Estate & Facilities team around hotel operations. Right to work in the UK required; 40 hours per week across 5 days, weekends and bank holidays a must.

Qualifications

• Interest in gardening, landscaping or grounds maintenance.
• Enjoy practical, hands-on work.
• Good eye for detail and pride in doing a job properly.
• Able to use grounds maintenance tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding and watering.
• Caring for lawns, gardens, plants, trees and shrubs.
• Keep pathways and outdoor areas clean and debris-free.
• Support seasonal planting and landscaping projects.
• Report health/maintenance concerns to supervisor.
• Work safely with tools and machinery.
• Assist with year-round maintenance and garden improvements.

Do you enjoy working outdoors and take pride in seeing a garden or outdoor space looking its best?

We’re looking for a Grounds Person to join the team at Ardencote, helping us care for our gardens, grounds and outdoor areas throughout the year

Set within beautiful Warwickshire countryside, Ardencote is a destination hotel and spa where the appearance of our grounds plays an important part in the experience we create for our guests. From lawns and landscaped gardens to pathways and planting, you’ll help make sure our outdoor spaces are always safe, welcoming and beautifully presented

What you’ll be doing

• Mowing, trimming, edging, weeding and watering
• Caring for lawns, gardens, plants, trees and shrubs
• Keeping pathways and outdoor areas clean, tidy and free from leaves and debris
• Helping with seasonal planting and landscaping projects
• Planting trees, shrubs, flowers and other plants
• Keeping an eye on the health and condition of our grounds and reporting any concerns
• Using grounds maintenance tools and machinery safely
• Helping with seasonal maintenance throughout the year
• Supporting improvements to our gardens and landscaped areas

You’ll work closely with our Estate & Facilities Manager and wider team, planning your work around the operation of the hotel and spa and helping us maintain the high standards our guests expect

About you

You don’t necessarily need formal horticultural qualifications. What’s most important is that you’re practical, reliable and enjoy working outdoors

• Are comfortable with the physical nature of grounds maintenance work

Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping or grounds maintenance would be an advantage, particularly if you have experience using grounds maintenance machinery or knowledge of plants, lawns, pests and diseases — but we’d also welcome applications from people with the right attitude and a genuine interest in the role

Additional Information

• 40 hours per week – Full-Time permanent position
• Working 5 days out of 7 per week (including weekends and bank holidays, you will need to be flexible to the business needs)
• Right to work in the UK required as time of application (visa sponsorship is not available)
• Salary: £28,000 per annum
