Job summary

LiveWest is seeking a Grounds Operative to maintain estates across our neighbourhoods. This mobile role is based around Yeovil and involves 40 hours per week, with van share and a UK driving licence required. You will cut grass, trim hedges and keep spaces safe, tidy and welcoming for customers.

You will join the Estates team, receive training and the tools needed to perform duties to a high standard while upholding LiveWest values and health and safety practices.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance or outdoor manual roles.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Knowledge of basic horticultural practices such as weeding, planting and pruning.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements (COSHH/PUWER).
• Experience operating and maintaining horticultural equipment safely.
• Ability to plan and prioritise work independently.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general grounds maintenance to a professional standard.
• Operate and maintain equipment safely (mowers, hedge cutters, etc.).
• Inspect communal areas and report defects or health and safety concerns.
• Keep tools and equipment in safe working order and report faults.
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times and promote safety.
• Engage with customers and refer issues when needed.
• Support wider Estates tasks including seasonal/emergency work.
