Job summary

Glendale is seeking a reliable Team Leader to manage a small grounds maintenance team in the Paulton area, delivering programmed works across sites in Somerset and Dorset. The role combines hands-on maintenance with day-to-day organisation, safety compliance, and quality control.

You will supervise up to two operatives, plan workloads, operate and maintain machinery, and ensure tasks are completed on time and to specification. A valid UK driving licence is essential; PA1/PA6 are desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in grounds maintenance and leading or mentoring others.
• Confident organising own work and guiding a small team.
• Experience operating ride-on equipment is desirable.
• Has towing experience or willing to work towards it.
• Understands safe working practices and machinery limitations.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to take responsibility on site.
• Clear communication with supervisors, colleagues and clients.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support a small grounds maintenance team on site
• Plan workloads and ensure all allocated sites are completed
• Operate grounds maintenance machinery safely and efficiently
• Use ride-on, pedestrian, and tractor-mounted equipment where required
• Carry out daily checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning of machinery
• Monitor quality, safety, and productivity on site
• Report defects, issues, and site concerns promptly
• Act as the main point of contact for your team during the day
