Job summary

VIVID Housing in the South Hampshire area is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to keep communal outdoor spaces safe, tidy and welcoming for residents. Based from Portsmouth and covering Eastleigh, you will work mainly outdoors, with training in the office as needed.

You’ll join a friendly team, operate a range of grounds equipment, and perform routine tasks from mowing and hedge trimming to litter clearance.

Qualifications

• DBS check may be required
• Full UK driving licence held for at least 1 year
• Ability to work outdoors in all weathers
• Good communication with residents and colleagues

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine grounds maintenance: grass/hedge cutting, trimming and weeding
• Maintain hard surfaces and soft landscaping
• Shrub maintenance and litter/debris removal
• Perform regular safety inspections and address hazards
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as leaf removal
• Operate grounds maintenance equipment and tools
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents
