Job summary

Glendale is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to provide an effective grounds maintenance service across private and public sector sites in York and North Yorkshire. You will understand garden maintenance and operate related machinery, including winter gritting and summer grass cutting as part of a flexible, weekend-friendly schedule.

Previous grounds maintenance knowledge is desirable, with training provided.

Qualifications

• Keen to learn, honest, hardworking, reliable and personable with an interest in horticulture.
• Training will be provided for grounds maintenance knowledge and tasks.
• Full, clean UK driving licence is required.
• PPE and regulatory compliance are essential.
• Willingness to learn and work independently.
• Availability for evening overtime in winter with a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Winter gritting and summer grass cutting in line with duties.
• Operate grounds maintenance machinery as required.
• Carry out garden maintenance tasks with understanding of horticulture.
• Be flexible with hours and weekend work as needed.
