Job summary

Together Housing Group in Blackburn is seeking a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Operative (Part-time) to join our team. You will carry out grass cutting, hedge trimming, litter picking, and playground upkeep to create safe spaces for residents and visitors.

This role is based at our Blackburn depot (BB1 2QU), 7.5 hours per week, with a 7.30 start once a day between Monday and Friday. A full manual UK driving license and practical grounds maintenance experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence.
• Practical experience in a grounds maintenance environment.
• Practical knowledge of and ability to operate Grounds Maintenance equipment and machinery.
• Experience in a customer orientated environment, able to deal with members of the public firmly but sympathetically.
• Good standard of literacy and numeracy for accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Carry out grass cutting using strimmers and mowers.
• Carry out hedge trimming and pruning of shrubs.
• Litter picking and upkeep of landscaped areas.
• Inspect and maintain playgrounds and play equipment.
• Record work completed and report site issues with details and photos.
