About The Venue:
Novotel Sydney Brighton Beach is a premium 4.5-star resort style hotel overlooking the beautiful, white sandy beaches of Brighton-Le-Sands and Sydney's picturesque Botany Bay. The hotel is currently undergoing an extensive refurbishment and on track to be one of the best event venues in NSW.

About the Role:
We’re seeking a proactive and hands-on Grounds & Maintenance Attendant to help keep our hotel surroundings pristine, inviting, and full of life. In this role, you’ll be responsible for maintaining both the natural beauty and functional upkeep of our outdoor spaces, gardens, and pool areas. Your eye for detail and passion for presentation will help create a welcoming environment for every guest who steps onto the property.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine garden care including planting, pruning, watering, weeding, mulching, and fertilising

Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of all external areas by clearing leaves, debris, and rubbish from paths, garden beds, and drains

Ensure garden structures and outdoor features (e.g. benches, pergolas, pathways) are clean, safe, and well-maintained

Carry out daily pool cleaning including skimming, vacuuming, and removing debris from in and around the pool

Operate and maintain pool equipment including pumps, filters, chlorinators, and robotic cleaners, following safety and manufacturer guidelines

Conduct regular water testing, adjust chemical levels as needed, and maintain accurate records to meet compliance requirements

Identify and report issues or hazards promptly to ensure all outdoor areas remain safe, functional, and guest-ready

Assist with small-scale landscaping enhancements and minor repairs as required

About You:

Prior experience in grounds, landscaping, or garden maintenance, ideally within a hospitality, resort, or property environment

Knowledge of horticulture, plant care, and landscaping tools (Certificate in Horticulture preferred)

Understanding of pool maintenance and water chemistry is highly desirable (training can be provided)

Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

A proactive, reliable team player with an eye for detail and pride in presentation

Knowledge of WHS practices and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment

Experience with forklifts is desirable but not essential
