Job summary

Mitie is seeking a Ground Maintenance Supervisor to lead and coordinate grounds operations at MOD Corsham. You will oversee grass cutting, hedges, planting, winter maintenance, and landscaping, ensuring safety, compliance, and environmental responsibility year-round.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising grounds maintenance or landscaping teams within large, complex, or highly regulated environments.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, including RAMS, COSHH, PUWER, permits to work, and safe systems of work.
• IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent), First Aid certification, and a valid UK Driving Licence.
• Experience operating grounds maintenance equipment and small plant, including mowers, strimmers, and similar machinery.
• Excellent planning, communication, stakeholder management, and digital reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise day-to-day grounds maintenance activities across the MOD Corsham site.
• Manage, coach, and develop a team of grounds operatives with a focus on safety and customer service.
• Oversee contractors and ensure RAMS, permits, site requirements, and standards are met.
• Ensure KPIs, quality standards, inspections, audits, and compliance are documented.

• Manage, coach, and develop a team of grounds operatives, ensuring high standards of performance, safety, and customer service.
• Oversee contractors and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with RAMS, permits, MOD site requirements, and operational standards.
• Ensure contractual KPIs, quality standards, inspections, audits, and compliance requirements are consistently achieved and accurately documented.
• Support biodiversity, sustainability, and carbon reduction initiatives while maintaining safe and efficient grounds operations.
