Whitbread PLC's Reading Winnersh Premier Inn is hiring a Ground Floor Team Member on a fixed-term contract (until 04/02/2027) for 24-30 hours per week. You’ll welcome guests, help them check in, serve meals, and support your teammates to keep the hotel running smoothly.

Prior hospitality experience isn’t required—training is provided, and you’ll be part of a friendly team at a busy hotel. Evening and weekend shifts are included, with on-site location in Reading.

We're currently recruiting in our Reading Winnersh Premier Inn. Working 24-30 hours per week, paying up to £13.06 per hour.

Ground Floor Team Member – Reading Winnersh Premier Inn

You are the first person many of our guests meet. And often the last before they leave.

As a Ground Floor Team Member, you’ll welcome guests, help them check in, answer questions, serve breakfast or dinner and do whatever it takes to help their stay go smoothly.

No two shifts are quite the same. One moment you could be helping a family check in before their holiday. The next you might be serving breakfast, recommending somewhere local to eat or helping solve a problem for a guest.

A conditional sale of the restaurant site has been agreed and this role may be in scope to TUPE transfer to Common Table Group.

Pay, hours and location

Pay: Up to £13.06 per hour

Contract: Fixed Term Contract (until 04/02/2027) – we don’t do zero-hours contracts.

Hours: 24-30 guaranteed hours per week.

Location: Reading Road, Winnersh, Reading, RG41 5HQ

Shifts: Includes evenings, weekends and busy guest periods.

What You’ll Do

As a Ground Floor Team Member, no two shifts look exactly the same.

Depending On Where You’re Needed, You Might

• Welcome guests and help them check in
• Serve breakfast or evening meals, including working behind the bar and serving alcoholic drinks
• Answer questions and help solve problems
• Help keep the reception, restaurant and public areas looking their best
• Support your teammates across the hotel when things get busy
• Make sure every guest feels looked after from arrival to departure

This isn’t a role where you'll spend your shift in one place. You’ll be helping guests, supporting teammates and keeping the hotel running smoothly.

You Don’t Need Hotel Experience

Some of our best Ground Floor Team Members have joined us from retail, cafés, pubs, restaurants, leisure, travel and customer service.

If you’re friendly, enjoy helping people and can stay calm when it’s busy, we’ll teach you the rest.
