Job summary

Zachary Daniels Recruitment is seeking an experienced Grocery Manager for a high-volume fresh foods operation in South Tyrone. You will take full ownership of the department, lead teams, ensure food safety, and drive customer experience across Coffee, QSR and Deli.

The role requires hands-on leadership on the shop floor, strong people management and a commercial mindset to meet KPI targets. An opportunity to develop staff and secure sector qualifications is available; salary £36,000-£42,000 DOE.

Qualifications

• Experience leading Fresh Foods/Grocery/Deli/QSR teams in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong people leadership and staff development skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and allergen compliance.
• Commercial awareness with lead KPIs in the sector.
• Hands-on leadership from the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Take full operational ownership of the department and manage teams of up to 35+.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, performance and attendance.
• Plan staffing and rotas to meet demand and targets.
• Ensure food safety, hygiene, allergens and legal compliance.
• Monitor KPIs and take actions to improve performance.
• Manage product availability, freshness, presentation and quality.
• Oversee day-to-day production and prep to meet demand and minimise waste.
• Resolve operational issues quickly to ensure smooth service.
• Collaborate with Store Manager on new products and seasonal menus.
• Ensure new processes are implemented effectively across operations.
• Use feedback to improve products and processes.

Grocery Manager | Retail | South Tyrone | £36,000 - £42,000

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Manager to take ownership of a high-volume fresh food operation.

We are currently recruiting for a Retail Manager to oversee a range of fresh food departments, including Coffee, QSR and Deli.

This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the day-to-day operation, people management, food safety, compliance, commercial performance and customer experience across the departments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Take full operational ownership of the department, managing teams of up to 35 plus.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding, training, performance, absence and team development.
• Plan staffing and rotas effectively to meet customer demand and commercial targets.
• Ensure excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, allergen management and legal compliance.
• Monitor all key performance indictors, taking action to improve performance.
• Ensure product availability, freshness, presentation and quality.
• Manage day-to-day production and preparation to meet customer demand while minimising waste.
• Identify and resolve operational issues quickly to maintain smooth service.
• Work closely with the Store Manager on; new products / menu's to drive sales and seasonal times.
• Ensure new products and processes are implemented effectively across the operation.
• Use customer and team feedback to improve products, processes and overall department performance

About You

• We're looking for an experienced ideally in Fresh Goods, Grocery, Deli or QSR at Management level with a strong background in leading teams within a fast-paced environment.
• Strong people leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent knowledge of food safety and allergen compliance.
• A strong commercial understanding, including lead KPI's in this sector
• A hands-on approach and the ability to lead from the shop floor.
• A genuine passion for food quality, customer service and operational standards.
• An Advantage if you hold any food safety qualifications to support however not essential as can be provided in securing the role.
