Job summary

Northern Powergrid Limited is seeking a Transmission Interface Engineer to shape the energy transition by delivering robust grid connection solutions. You’ll work with customers, designers and external stakeholders across both distribution and transmission networks to optimise capacity and secure access.

You will build technical proposals, explain options clearly to customers and influence outcomes through collaborative stakeholder engagement and robust engineering analysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in electricity networks, network planning, power systems or grid connections.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Act as the technical interface between customers, Northern Powergrid, NESO and transmission operators.
• Assess and challenge technical connection proposals to ensure they are robust and aligned with requirements.
• Recommend practical and innovative engineering solutions for large customer demand and energy projects.
• Review transmission access and connection offers to ensure they meet customer and network needs.
