Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a Skilled Greenspace Operative to join our Environmental Services team on a permanent basis. This hands-on, supervisory role will maintain and enhance communal and public spaces across housing estates, while mentoring a small team of Horticultural Operatives.

You will carry out routine horticultural tasks, support winter maintenance, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance. Excellent communication with residents and colleagues is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Horticulture or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience in grounds maintenance, landscaping or horticulture on housing estates or local authority contracts preferred.
• Supervisory experience or ability to coordinate a small team of operatives desired.
• Knowledge of plant species, turf management and weed control.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and seasonal horticultural tasks: grass cutting, hedge trimming, pruning, weeding, planting, mulching, and leaf clearance.
• Undertake soft landscaping projects such as turfing, seeding, planting and soil preparation.
• Operate and maintain ride-on mowers, strimmers, hedge trimmers, blowers, spraying equipment and hand tools safely.
• Support winter maintenance including gritting and snow clearance.
• Undertake litter picking, bin emptying and environmental cleaning in communal areas.
• Supervise and mentor a small team of Horticultural Operatives.
• Record completed work using mobile devices or job sheets.
• Liaise courteously with residents, clients and colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH, PPE and environmental procedures.
