Job summary

Elmbridge Borough Council is seeking an enthusiastic Ranger to help manage green spaces, cemeteries and commons across the district. You will work within the Green Spaces Team delivering practical estate maintenance and responsive repairs to outdoor furniture, fencing and posts.

You should be capable of self-managing your workload with guidance, work well alone or in a team, and bring a proactive approach to improving services for residents, including vulnerable communities.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance of green spaces.
• Ability to prioritise and report on works.
• Capable of working alone or in a team.

• Installations and repairs of fencing and posts; cleansing works; outdoor furniture installation/repair.

And what a team! You will be working with a determined and committed group, passionate about protecting and enhancing the green spaces, cemeteries and commons in Elmbridge. They know the value of these spaces to our residents, especially our most vulnerable residents.

Working within the Green Spaces Team you will undertake practical management and estate maintenance duties.

A skilled ranger with enthusiasm for minor maintenance works.

An enthusiastic individual is sought for an immediate start. You have experience of the maintenance of green spaces and minor practical works, but you will also have the ability to self-manage your workload with guidance; ensuring the residents of Elmbridge are best served at all times.

You will be able to demonstrate your knowledge of,

• Minor maintenance and improvements work of a practical nature such as installation and repairs of fencing and posts, cleansing works and installation and repair of outdoor furniture
• being highly organised and skilled in prioritising, reporting and undertaking works in a systematic manner
• working alone and with a team
• and of innovation and creativity in the delivery of services
