Job summary

The Clock Tower Sanctuary, based in Brighton, is seeking a Fundraising Officer to join the Fundraising & Communications team. You will secure income from trusts and foundations through research, bids, relationship management and grant reporting to help meet fundraising targets.

The role is full-time, 35 hours per week at Wenlock House, Brighton, with 25 days leave plus birthday and bank holidays. Start date ASAP, closing date 2026-11-02.

Qualifications

• At least two years’ experience developing funding bids for a charity.
• Demonstrable track record in securing grants/donations in excess of £5k
• Experience of undertaking prospect research and pipeline management
• Excellent written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
• Strong relationship-management skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders.
• Effective organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Knowledge of Word, Excel and CRM systems e.g. Donorfy, Raiser's Edge, Beacon.

Responsibilities

• Develop and secure funding from new and known Trusts and Foundations.
• Undertake prospect research, ensuring all new and known funders are captured in the pipeline
• Prepare and submit agreed number of bids on quarterly basis to meet targets, tracking conversion rates and ensuring timely feedback to Fundraising & Communications Manager
• Develop funding bids to meet operational priorities, as expressed in The Clock Tower Sanctuary’s Strategic Plan
• Continue to develop in-house knowledge bank on key issues relating to youth homelessness, ensuring relevant sector reports, statistics, facts and case studies are captured and updated.
• Deliver timely reports and updates on funded projects.
• Ensure all internal records and our CRM, Beacon, are updated on a regular basis.
• Work closely with colleagues to ensure evaluation reports are submitted in a timely manner, capturing data from in-house CRM systems and qualitative case studies
• Contribute to all monitoring and evaluation, ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection requirements and best practice.
• Work collaboratively across the organisation and contribute to fundraising team objectives.
• Act in accordance with The Clock Tower Sanctuary's values, policies and commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Undertake any other duties reasonably required by the Fundraising & Communications Manager, CEO or Trustees.
