What is the job role?

As a Graduate Web Development Officer, you will play a key role in transforming the digital experience for Coventry City Council’s customers, staff and Coventry residents. Working within the Systems Team in Digital Services, you’ll help plan, develop, and deliver web solutions that improve how residents, partners, and staff interact with the Council online.

Responsibilities

• Deliver web development projects using a mixture of low-code platforms and professional development technologies from initial planning through to implementation, ensuring all work meets time, budget, and quality targets.
• Provide technical expertise in web development, ensuring all solutions comply with accessibility and security standards.
• Support the integration of the Council’s website with other technical systems, such as Customer Relationship Management and mapping systems.
• Test and maintain changes, manage releases, and ensure effective handover to operational teams.
• Keep up to date with the latest government digital initiatives and best practices and implement the Council’s digital strategies.
• Work closely with colleagues across Digital Services and other Council departments, as well as external partners, to deliver high‑quality digital services that make a real difference to the people of Coventry.
