Job summary

Sweco is recruiting for a Graduate Modeller in its Water & Asset Management Division in the UK. You’ll assist with flood risk and urban drainage projects, building hydraulic models with Infoworks ICM and TUFLOW, using GIS to map flood extents and supporting planning and reporting.

Qualifications

• Have a degree relevant to the role you’re applying for.
• Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
• Are confident using Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools.
• Are driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
• Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of flood risk and urban drainage projects for clients.
• Build and utilise hydraulic models of rivers, drainage systems and wastewater networks using Infoworks ICM, TUFLOW or similar.
• Analyse the performance of wastewater and drainage networks under current and future conditions, including climate change and population growth.
• Identify and assess sustainable options to improve capacity, operation and resilience of wastewater networks.
• Identify causes of flooding and develop options to reduce flood risk.
• Use GIS to analyse data and map flood extents.
• Contribute to planning applications, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and presentations.

What does the role involve?

As a Graduate Modeller, you will:

• Build and utilise hydraulic models of rivers, drainage systems and wastewater networks using industry standard software (Infoworks ICM, TUFLOW or similar)
• Analyse the performance of wastewater and drainage networks under current and future conditions, including the effects of climate change and population growth.
• Identify and assess sustainable options to improve the capacity, operation and resilience of wastewater networks
• Identify the causes of flooding and develop options to reduce flood risk
• Use GIS to analyse data and map flood extents
• Contribute to planning applications, flood risk assessments and drainage strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and presentations
