Job summary

Sweco is recruiting for its Autumn 2027 cohort of Graduate Operational Technology Engineers to join the Water & Asset Management Division in the UK. The role focuses on instrumentation, control and automation within OT asset management for critical infrastructure projects, including data-driven analysis and reporting.

Successful graduates will develop through a two-year blended learning programme, with virtual and in-person components, mentoring from leaders, and opportunities to achieve

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field or comparable qualification.
• Experience or exposure to OT/ICA principles is a plus.
• Comfort with data-driven decision making and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate projects under supervision, with a Project Manager.
• Assist with data federation, analysis, interpretation and presentation for stakeholders.
• Support development of engineering standards and reports.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver project requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within OT teams.

At Sweco UK, our portfolio of Operational Technology (OT) Asset Management services is designed to offer a diverse range of core specialisms – including SCADA consultancy – to enhance the efficiency and resilience of critical systems across multiple sectors and applications.

We know that society depends on our clients to deliver continuous, high-quality services. It’s therefore essential to have effective operational technology (OT) asset management solutions which provide safe and secure monitoring and control of asset inventories and networks. Our services include the development of real-time strategies, and project management of your operational technology portfolios including asset renewal and system implementations.

We focus on Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) and various utilities, including water and energy. Our expertise extends to managing networks, distribution, and transmission, while navigating the regulatory environment and drivers that shape these sectors. We also specialise in the management of remote assets, ensuring security clearance and effective on-shore models to safeguard and optimise operations.

What does the role involve?

This exciting role will involve working on a range of projects in the field of Instrumentation, Control and Automation (ICA). Successful candidates will join our career pathway and will be working within our Operational Technology teams delivering our world class service to our customers.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and co-ordinating the delivery of projects alongside a Project Manager.
• Defining scope and requirement for projects.
• Data federation, analysis, interpretation and presentation.
• Authoring engineering standards.
• Report production.
• Business process mapping.
• Supporting your team with company digital initiatives for continuous improvement.
• Close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements.

• Are confident using Microsoft Office and other relevant digital tools.

• Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future. This is a permanent role, and we are looking for candidates who can grow their careers with Sweco without a time limit.
