Job summary

Join Stantec’s 2027 Graduate Programme in Manchester as a Graduate Urban Drainage Modeller. You will support hydraulic modelling of wastewater and urban drainage networks for major UK water companies, develop technical skills, and work with a specialist team on innovative projects.

As a graduate, you will be mentored towards professional qualifications (CIWEM or ICE chartership) and gain experience through a structured early-career programme with 4 days in the office per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/ Hydraulic Engineering, Geography or water-related subject (Hydrology).
• Keen interest in the water industry and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support development and use of hydraulic models for wastewater and urban drainage networks.
• Contribute to feasibility studies and option development for drainage infrastructure.
• Assist in assessing system resilience, contingency planning and surge analysis.
• Support water quality assessments and wider modelling work for sustainable solutions.
• Collaborate with specialists across Water teams to solve client challenges.
• Develop modelling capability through mentoring, training and hands-on project work.
